Why TV pixelation occurs

How does TV Pixelation happen?

There is a critical signal level/quality called the “CLIFF EDGE”. (see diagram) Signal levels that are above the cliff edge will mean that you get clear, uninterrupted pictures. Signal levels below the cliff edge will mean that you get pixelation or a ‘no signal’ message.

If your signal levels are teetering right on the cliff edge you will get a situation where the picture is OK for a while and then will start pixelating and then come good again.

This is an indication of poor signal and you may need some repairs/improvements to your antenna system.
